Structured data entity

One check, stated three ways: what we measure, what would make it wrong, and how to confirm it yourself.

What this measures

What the JSON-LD actually claims: the @type values found, whether the primary entity carries name, url and description, whether a product or organisation type is present at all, and — new in v5 — whether the name in the markup has any word overlap with the page's own title and H1.

Where this check can be wrong

The name-match test punishes a markup block that describes the parent brand while the page is a feature page; that can be intentional. We only deduct when the page has a title or H1 to compare against.

Verify it without taking our word for it

Paste the JSON-LD into Google's Rich Results Test, then read its name next to your <title>. If the two disagree, one of them is a claim you did not mean to make.
