Title tag
One check, stated three ways: what we measure, what would make it wrong, and how to confirm it yourself.
What this measures
The contents of the first <title> element: presence, length, whether it states what the product does, whether it is just the brand, and how it compares to the H1. A generic title such as “Home” or “Vite + React” scores zero.
Where this check can be wrong
A short brand-only title is correct for a company homepage and we still mark it down. Multi-page apps often render the real title after hydration, which the raw HTML does not show.
Verify it without taking our word for it
curl -s https://your.site | grep -o '<title>.*</title>' — read the HTML the server sent, not the tab in your browser, because the tab shows the post-JavaScript version.
