URL structure
One check, stated three ways: what we measure, what would make it wrong, and how to confirm it yourself.
What this measures
The path of the fetched URL: total length, uppercase letters, underscores, and nesting deeper than three folders.
Where this check can be wrong
Only the URL we were given is judged, so a site with clean permalinks can still score badly if you audited a long tracking or campaign URL. Uppercase is harmless on most servers, which is why it costs a fraction of a point rather than failing.
Verify it without taking our word for it
Look at the address bar, or copy several internal links: if they read like /blog/2026/10/my-post they are fine, and if they read like /page_id=2 they are not.
