Short answer
What you need to know before submitting
Uneed reopened its free waiting line in September 2026. Free submissions receive an assigned date roughly 30 days to five months out when capacity allows. On launch day a free product needs an upvote score of 10 to remain published, and 20 to keep the dofollow backlink.
Important limitation
Uneed uses a score with voter multipliers, not simply a raw count of people. Paid tiers have different persistence and link rules. The checkout and dates shown in your actual account take precedence over older blog posts or our snapshot.
Best for: Indie makers with a launch-ready public product. User intent: Free launch / queue / backlink threshold.
Step-by-step
Get your Uneed submission right
Enter the product URL first
Uneed's official submission page lets you start by providing your name and product URL; its site collects preliminary product details. Create or sign in to an account to save and continue.
Choose a launch route from your dashboard
Submitting product details is not scheduling a launch. After saving, choose the free waiting line if available, or a paid fast-track / date-selection option if your timing requires it.
Understand the free score thresholds before launch day
A free launch needs an upvote score of at least 10 to remain public, and at least 20 for a dofollow link. Vote score may include voter multipliers and is not identical to unique voters.
Prepare people who actually want to see the product
Send useful, non-coercive announcements to existing users and your relevant communities. Prepare a concise product pitch, working onboarding path and screenshots before the scheduled date.
Verify the page after your launch window
Open your listing as a signed-out visitor. Record whether it remained published and whether the outward link matches your product domain. Don't equate having a scheduled date with earning a permanent public backlink.
Avoidable mistakes
What usually goes wrong
“Uneed stopped free launches in August.”
Its August closure was superseded by a September 2026 reopening with different queue rules.
Do this instead: Consult the current pricing page and September changelog, not an outdated announcement.
“A launch gets a permanent followed link automatically.”
The free tier has separate score thresholds for remaining published and keeping a dofollow link.
Do this instead: Track the outcome after launch day and confirm the actual public outbound link.
“Submitting a URL means the product is scheduled.”
Uneed explicitly separates product submission from choosing a waiting-line or paid launch option.
Do this instead: Open your dashboard and record the assigned week or date only after confirmed.
How the new free line differs from the old one
Uneed's historical announcements can be misleading: it closed the free waiting line in August, then announced its return on September 11, 2026. Under the newer model a free launch date is allocated automatically between 30 days and five months, and capacity may temporarily fill. The final on-screen option determines whether new free slots remain available.
The published pricing page lists a $14.99 Fast-track option and a $29.99 Skip the Line option at the time of review. The first assigns an earlier slot; the second lets a founder select an available date. Paying for a date doesn't automatically generate customers; check the price and exact rule again at checkout.
Do you really need to pay for the backlink?
The correct decision depends on your timeline and audience, not a domain-rating promise. A free launch with a relevant founder audience can create product feedback even if no followed backlink remains. On the other hand, a founder who needs a specific release date should compare the paid scheduling fee to a different, relevant launch community.
If you do reach the voting thresholds, verify the real outbound link and record any referral visits. Do not purchase artificial votes, bribe users to manipulate the leaderboard, or assume that a site's advertised link attribute guarantees SEO improvements.
Do not lose your submission
Keep proof of the attempt and the result
Before you leave, save Uneed, your product URL, the submitted date, receipt, current status and any owner-only action. Only set the status to live after a signed-out visitor can open the final public listing URL.

Founder questions
Uneed submission FAQ
Is Uneed still free in late 2026?
Yes, its September 2026 changelog and current how-it-works page describe a reopened free line, subject to queue capacity. Older August posts announcing a closure are outdated.
How many votes do I need on Uneed?
For a free launch the platform specifies a weighted upvote score of 10 to stay published and 20 to keep a dofollow backlink. This is a score, not necessarily 10 or 20 distinct accounts.
How long is the Uneed free waiting line?
The updated policy assigns a date no earlier than roughly 30 days and no later than five months when free capacity is available. Check your dashboard's actual assigned slot.
Is the $14.99 Fast-track the same as a guaranteed SEO link?
No. Fast-track offers earlier scheduling and separate publication rules. Its dofollow link still has a score threshold under the published terms; no search ranking is guaranteed.
